Superman is usually better at controlling collateral damage than younger and less optimistic heroes. There are great examples of this is Superman Vs The Elite and Superman (2025)
It was so refreshing to see Superman give a shit again in the new movie. The Edgy Era was entirely the wrong tone for the character.
