Boomers did this
Applause
Wait, it looks like Millennials/GenX
“Hey hey! Enough of this generation blaming!”
:-/
Millenials don’t run anything. The senate is still dominated by Boomers and the Reps are dominated by Boomers and Gen X. Boomers have been holding on to jobs so long that by time they die it will be Zoomers time to step up.
Millenials don’t run anything.
Steven Miller, JD Vance, Pete Hegseth, Elise Stefanik, and Tulsi Gabbard run plenty. The average age of an ICE agent is 40, with plenty coming into the organization in their 20s. The average age of US military leadership is 44 (by design). The average age of US mayors is 50. The average CEO is 54, with newer executives tending to the high 40s. The average US voter’s age is 43.
Millenials run plenty.

And they’ve done nothing substantial to affect the Unitary Executive government. They’re perfectly happy to just sit on their hands while the younger and more aggressive leadership take the lead. They don’t control the money in a material sense, either. Lobbyists, DC staffers, and campaign bundlers all skew much younger. Dianne Feinstein was drooling into her oatmeal while her Chief of Staff James Sauls was making all her decisions.
Charlie Kirk was a mere 31 years young when he was abruptly unalived. He’d been slopping around a campaign war chest of $85M - more than most sitting governors - in an effort to influence elections through the American southwest.
These are the people running the country.
Sort of the joke. “Trump’s brain dead! He’s being led around by the nose!”
“Okay, who is leading him around”
glances at the Millennial/GenX cabinet “Trump is playing 11D chess!”
You want to send grandma and grandpa to war? They fought in Korea and Viet Nam, and some of them in the Gulf War. They’re sick of war. And, while some of them are MAGA, they are those who voted for “no new wars” and are now pissed at Trump.
Bernie is a boomer and so are many of the people who support and voted for him.
If you want to stop being painted with one brush, be the change you want to see. It’s not a generational war, it’s a fucking class war.
How about we send the people who support it, and started it–the filthy rich?
It’s just like their videogames on the AARP website.

Dude why do you think they had Vietnam?
Wasn’t enough houses, colleges, and jobs for all of the boomers that were coming of age.
Cull the herd a bit. Problem solved.
The baby boomer generation holds 51.1% of the total populations wealth. They watched Regan rise to power, strip new deal legislation, neuter unions, kill millions with the AIDS crisis, and funnel cocaine into minority neighborhoods. You all have had a literal lifetime to take that wealth and fight for the future generations to have a better life. Instead of doing that, the vocal majority told ALL OF US (Gen X, Gen Y, Millenials, Gen Z and now Gen Alpha) that we are entitled little shits who are lazy, and need to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps.
If you want the old people hate to stop, maybe look at your peers and get them to realize the mess that has been made fell largely on your shoulders to clean up, and you did nothing.
Maybe you’ve spent your whole life protesting and promoting progressive candidates. I dont know you. I only know the statistics and history about the generations. If you have been fighting for progress your whole life, thats great and I’m happy you did that. but understand when people say things like the OP, it isnt directed at those who tried to make a positive change, it’s directed at the majority who sat around and let fascism happen.
I’ve heard stats presented that way all my life, usually in terms of “immigrants”, “Jews”, “Catholics” , etc. You want to look up some stats? Look at voter turnout amongst young people. Or the population of the United States vs available land, 1960’s to present. Or look up post war economic booms and how they affect things.
Here we are, with decades of low voter turnout, a waning economy that is completely gamed not by an age group but by the wealthy, and too many people to allow the old ways of “growth” to work anymore.
And somehow amidst that we’ve decided that part of our very identity is the range of years in which we were born. Who decided what a boomer or millennial or gen X/Z/Alpha is? Was it a consensus amongst social scientists? Or was it something more useful for marketing strategy?
I reject your comment outright. Everything you said was perpetuated (or not) by the entirety of people living in that/this time. We are all part of this world and othering a group of people, i.e. scapegoating others does jackshit for solving our problems.
Ah yes, we’re all just one collective! Of course! No one has any defining traits that would make them vote one way or another. Were all a hivemind without any characteristics and its the young peoples fault for having to faith in the current government system that was completely fucking destroyed by Regan’s policies. It is the fault of the people who were not even born yet and have no wealth, living paycheck to paycheck. It is the fault of the single mother with 3 jobs thay she couldn’t vote. It is the fault of the 2nd generational immigrant that they got deported to a county they’ve never set foot in. It is definitely not the older generations fault for not standing up to this shit while it was being set up, its the people who werent even a semen in their daddy’s ballsacks fault
but actually were all one group and have no differences, so its really no ones fault. this was inevitable and could not have been prevented.
I said none of that. And the older generation “not standing up to this shit”? Quite a few did. And quite a few in previous generations did as well.
And quite a few people from whatever “generation” you fancy yourself a member also work for a better world.
Complaining about age discrimination? OKAY
welcome to the US Army, private.
