I've switched from Chrome to Vivaldi, and set up and started using Proton.

What I'm looking for this #DIDay is an alternative to Google Tasks and Keep.

Does anyone have something they like for a task-list that would integrate with a calendar, and shareable lists?

[Update: I'm moving both AnyType and a shared doc in Proton Drive to replace shopping lists in Google Keep into the beta testing phase by sharing with one of my kids.]

@ElwoodCity
I'm also interested in recommendations for Google Keep.
Google reminds me of Borg cybernetic implants that are hard to remove once you've been assimilated. But resistance is not futile.
I'm trying to convince my family to standardize on Proton to share calendars and storage to share photos, and Signal can replace Chat. A replacement for Keep means we can continue to share lists for gift suggestions, to-do lists and other notes.

Exactly!

Google doesn't need to know my family's shopping list!

@ElbowsUpforDigitalSovereignty @ElwoodCity I use Anytype for keeping notes and lists, very happy with it.

This is very option-rich, which means it is tough to find the way to do what I'm looking for.

I think setting up a Space in My Channels for my own tasks works to replace Google Tasks. One feature I'm hoping for that I haven't found here is sharing tasks with a calendar. I like having my tasks show up and be able to be checked off at the same place I'm looking at my schedule.

Is this a feature that I'm missing, or is it not an option?

Having a separate Space for family stuff can replace Keep by using Notes, which does allow for both headings and tick-boxes. That's what I'm looking for with a shopping list.

@ElwoodCity @ElbowsUpforDigitalSovereignty I don't think you can share tasks with an external calendar, but I believe anytype has a built in calendar. I haven't explored that though, I primarily use it for shopping lists, notes and trip planning.

A Reddit group - r/degoogle - recommends Quillpad as a very close replacement for Keep. Reviews on Google Play (I'm an Android user) are mostly positive. Might test this out.

One interesting feature of this is that it didn't ask me to set up an account - it just let me start in with building a shopping list.

With no account, it makes sense that they won’t be collecting any data, and thus can't share any data with third parties.

One thing I like about Keep is that you can share a list, and it shares access so collaborators can add items or tasks to the list. The share feature on Quillpad is essentially a copy/paste feature that shares content but not access.

@ElwoodCity
Sharing is important to us as well. I'll keep looking...

@ElbowsUpforDigitalSovereignty

This looks like it'd be fine for some use cases, notably for anyone who keeps their Keep to themselves...
