@f4grx @shapoco I mean, whether the first or second approach is right depends on the physics of where the specified margins come from. It's not like the technical drawing can choose whether the pad size has +-x% tolerance, or the distance between the inner edges of the pads.
A drawing's job is foremost to correctly represent the actual geometry including its tolerances, and only secondarily serve the desire for simplicity.
