Mars Trek's playfield rubbers have been there untouched since late 80s. They're great! #pinball #repair
@apzpins Probably just needs a fuse

@pinballshoppe It's one of the rare cases where nothing was promised of the game when I got it and it's just been a lot of work.

In 2024 we had the local theater staff over for a private event and they told me they had a prop pinball machine in storage. They asked if I'd want it. I expected it was just a particle board box made to look like a pin, but I went to check it out anyway.

Much to my surprise it was this thing. They had bought it in the 80s and it was used in multiple plays, until it was stashed away and it was there in their warehouse until someone was cleaning it up and thought of me.

The 30 years of storage does pretty harsh things to an EM game. All the grease had seized, so anything that rotates didn't any more. It's been bit of a back burner project, we've taken it apart unit at a time when we have had the time and now it's slowly coming together.

The playfield is very nice considering and the backglass is mint. The cabinet is okay, obviously having been transported by non-arcade people but I've seen worse.

I've always like Mars Trek as a game so it was a very pleasant surprise when I first saw it, even when I had my doubts if we'd ever get it running.

@apzpins What a great history, and a prize find! :) Well done on bringing it back to life!
