Trying to manage my fatigue, and the effects of exercise and sleep apnoea treatment on it, has led me at last to buy an Apple Watch for its comprehensive suite of sensors and software. And the animated Snoopy watch face, of course.

It's secondhand and didn't come with a strap (which meant buying a cheap third party strap, as the Apple equivalent costs—brace yourself—A HUNDRED QUID), but I was able to trade in an assortment of old electronics against it; and the advantage of getting the model with a sapphire screen and titanium body is that any previous owner would have to have really gone out of their way to cause any damage to it, so it's in good shape. Better shape than I'm in, certainly.

Considering I get out so rarely that I hardly ever need an actual watch these days, this is clearly overkill. Frankly, I think this model (Ultra 2) is probably overkill for at least 95% of the people who buy it, but it has a big battery and monitors everything from sleep patterns to heart anomalies, which is my main focus. I suspect I'll feel incredibly self-conscious wearing it in public, though.

@BigJackBrass Ultra 1 here! Would upgrade, when it dies, to whatever Ultra then exists. Good size, would like better battery life, but it works for me.
@BigJackBrass OTOH, if I go out, I have this on the other wrist.
@FredKiesche They say that a man who wears two watches can never be sure of the correct time 😁
@BigJackBrass I don't know how the Apple Watch synchronizes, but the second is linked to THE ATOMIC CLOCK!!!! 😂
@BigJackBrass Oh, the Atomic Clock Watch is solar powered. A really tiny cell, but just normal filteref inside light is enough to keep it going.
