Just my occasional casting of a line into the murky waters of social media to see if I can catch some new connections in * Milton Keynes * ... It'd be good to get to know a few more people with similar interests & mindsets locally!

@TeaKayB Milton Keynes: Milton Friedman meets John Maynard Keynes?

I see it is a London Suburb. I just found the name interesting.

@Stig

I'm all in favour of economics+geography jokes!

It's not a London suburb, not sure where you got that from!

@TeaKayB I just read, that it was built to take some pressure of London, and erroneously concluded, that it would be a suburb.

I just checked on a map: It's not that far from Watford, where I spent some time in my youth.

@Stig
Yes, it's about 40 minutes to London on the train from here, with Watford Junction about half way in. Pretty convenient!
@TeaKayB I know some people there through work. As there is a large office for a rail infrastructure manager close to the station of which I have a passing acquaintance. What are you interested in?
@wnd
Hi! I'm interested in maths, books, & movies! A bit of music too (I love Queen, & play guitar, though not much these days).
@TeaKayB I'm now trying to work out the the Venn diagram between that and people who work in the railway. (Part of the problem is I sometimes work in MK but live in South Yorkshire).
@wnd
That's quite a commute!
@TeaKayB Tamworth says "Hello!" and hence the "sometimes". I spend more time in London, York or Manchester. An advantage of working for a national organisation.
@wnd
I have friends in Tamworth! I travel around the UK for work occasionally, but not often.
@TeaKayB I’ve only been there twice, I’m afraid. Once to see a UCI cyclocross race in the big park, the name of which escapes me. #Helpful
@arratoon
I don't know what that is! And there are a few big parks...
