Week 5 of the #wildshoreBlanketCal with on the left its friend and mentor, the Moorland Blanket, also by attic24. We have 20 stripes left - I put my tape measure at the height where my blanket would end.

I want my blanket to be at least as long as the Moorland, so I have a lot of extra stripes to think up all by myself. For the first set I’m using a variation on week 3.

We have reached toe coverage! This is not a drill!

We have toe uncoverage!
The second set of extra stripes. The hank of coop knits was kind enough to stand in for the second row of sage. The longer I look at it the more I’m doubting it all so I should just get on with making the thing. Laying out the colours was super fun! But it feels like a big responsibility to add to a pattern an actual professional who does actual colour magic spent months on. #wildshoreBlanketCal

There is no CAL update this week, we have the week off before the border pattern in published next week. I just finished my 40 extra rows so I can now start week 6. #wildshoreBlanketCal
Displaying crochet avoidant behaviour. I’m at the last stripe before the border and I don’t want it to be over! #wildshoreBlanketCal #crochet
🥺

Playing with colours for the border! I have a pretty good idea of what I want. It won’t be Lucy’s pattern exactly, because going all around a blanket with little chain-2’s that might snag on absolutely everything does not fit into my clumsy lifestyle.

Working on the border. The rounds are very very very long. Fortunately there’s help. #wildshoreBlanketCal #wildshoreBlanketCat

The colours are incredibly off in this light so the formal portraits will have to wait. But it’s done and since it will be cold tonight, it will be on my bed :)

How it started // How it’s going

Lucy, the designer of this blanket, was inspired by Lindisfarne and the North Sea. Just like the island, I decided to have water all around the blanket, in the colours I’ve seen while being next to, in, under, over, or on the North Sea. (All I missed in the palette was a dark teal!) #wildshoreBlanketCal
@venite yay :) I love all the colours in this.
@allysseriordan me too! I don’t know how she does it
@venite Yay, gefeliciteerd!
@lisettedeboer wat een mooi idee!
