So, the UK are actually trying to ban the creation and possession of "incest porn" and, quote, "whether those appearing are actually related or not" because "We want everyone to be aware of what a healthy consensual relationship is"?

So...consensually doing incest roleplay with your adult, consenting partner(s) is NOT a healthy, consensual relationship then?

Gods, thanks so much for telling me, and here I was, thinking me and adult, consenting, possible partners would be able to decide that!

Now, the law(s) also encompass several non-consensual things. I can totally understand that!

But that specific, explicitly fictional RP stuff, people might do is THEIR stuff!

Onlyfans bans porn with urine, BTW.

That said:

Three 'horrific' types of porn are being made illegal in the UK

The UK Government has proposed new laws to criminalise screenshotting intimate videos, semen-defaced images, and porn depicting incest.

Metro

Neither of those are my personal kinks.
But that's, once again, how shit starts!

Next they'll try to get rid of BDSM because "consensual control and pain leads to people actually wanting to hurt others without consent" or some bullshit?! Like they said in the article, fictional incest leading to abuse?!

No?! Being a fucking abuser leads to abuse!

"I'm not here to tell anyone what they are able to do in their bedroom when it is safe, legal and consensual."

Erm, yes? By making safe, consensual stuff ILLEGAL, you ARE telling people exactly that!

If people wanna RP such stuff and keep movies of that to themselves or whatever, that's their choice!

Or maybe these websites just explain the plans really bad.

Let people consensually do whatever!

So, yeah, once again shit's making me angry because people can't differentiate between consent and non-consent and shit.

Just let consenting adults do whatever when there are no victims!

(I won't even discuss actual incest and regarding laws here, I've got opinions and questions on that, but not the necessary mood or nerves right now.)

Again: maybe websites explain the plans really bad. But "whether those appearing are actually related or not" sounds really straightforward.

"‘Step-family’ content is not currently included in the legislation"

Oh?! So with step family this doesn't automatically lead to abuse?! The abuser only does it BECAUSE they're related?

Wow, sounds totally logical and totally not like you make up unrelated (haha!) shit!

I TRY to understand their point!

Like, maybe, "if we allow them to normalize x, people will do it and hurt others!"

But sorry, that's bullshit!

An actual abuser, to whoever or of whatever kind, does this shit not because it's legal, because most abuse IS NOT legal, but because they're an abuser!

If I consensually, after making up safe words and all the stuff, choke or hit my hypothetical partner(s), I am NOT suddenly going to strangle strangers at night in the park!

IF I do that, which I don't, then I'd do that because I've got something wrong in my head and I need professional help, or something.

No consensual, planned and safe thing my partner(s) do with me will lead to that!

Anyway, rant over, I'll play games now!

@BryanGreyson there are two things that make this all very complex:

1) It's not clear that fiction doesn't spill into reality, that themes don't become normalised and bleed from one to the other. Certainly, there have been too many incidents of non-consensual strangling, following the trend for it in porn.

2) Porn sites are not clear on the consent or identity of participants, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality.

I agree, in principle, that fully consenting adults should be allowed to do pretty much whatever they want, including watching other fully consenting adults doing stuff. But across society, there is a very big problem with lack of consent. Until we can fix that, maybe we shouldn't feed abusers the concept that certain acts are normal?

@BryanGreyson

This is just part of a long line of UK porn bans attempting to outlaw bdsm: first one I remember was the Conservative Party banning face sitting porn and some other stuff about 13y ago.

Then Labour banned strangulation porn recently saying "there is no safe way to strangle someone" referring to the safer erotic strangulation which is basically just pushing down on a main artery to lower blood flow to the brain to increase pleasure. They argued that lowering blood flow to the brain is unsafe

But there has to be something wrong with you to compare careful and deliberate consensual sex acts to increase pleasure with literally stopping someone breathing as part of a power fantasy that you could kill them
