Just got a 2026-001 security update on my 2012 MBP running macOS 10.15 Catalina.
I only boot this occasionally for testing, and it's now on 10.15.8. What an unexpected surprise.

@Davi_Dblees Here is an alternative take by which „the updates extend the certificate that features like device activation, iMessage, and FaceTime use. The certificate update ensures that these functions will continue to work after January 2027.“
