We still can't have Minecraft Bedrock Edition on macOS, but…
@marcoarment If I won the lottery I would somehow force Microsoft to bring Bedrock to macOS, and then Valve to support Steam+Rosetta+Proton on macOS.
@marcoarment Thanks to @gruber this week, my first question is whether it's actual chocolate or 'chocolate candy.'
@jblake @marcoarment @gruber Thanks to EU regulations, our chocolate is actual chocolate.
@renef @jblake @marcoarment @gruber I now dream of a brand called "Regulation Chocolate". Hopefully designed in the 50's and approved by the Ministry of Confectionery.
@jblake @marcoarment @gruber it is choclate, it comes in bars. the bars are quadratic, which is their trademark. they sue anyone who makes square chocolate bars. maybe they change the bars to a squircle for the promotion.
@marcoarment Fun (?) fact: Minecraft Education Edition, which is largely the same codebase as Bedrock, is available on the Mac, so most of the porting is already done. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@chipotle @marcoarment A Microsoft employee answered several years ag on Reddit that it was basically bussiness beaurocratic reasons for bedrock not being on macOS.

For what it’s worth: if you use a custom java server, the GeyserMC plugins works fairly well with making the server also support Bedrock.

@marcoarment mhmm the manufacturer had some bad press because they maintained Russian business…
@aslmewes @marcoarment In my opinion, this was partly unfounded. They donate every cent they earn in Russia to aid organisations working in Ukraine. They also have no production facilities there, but only supply chocolate produced in Germany to Russia. Other brands have closed their sales operations, but continue to supply Russia and do not give a penny of their profits to Ukraine.

@marcoarment
Hihi, and I already run Minecraft Java Edition on Android, and Bedrock Edition on Linux (both unsupported platforms)

Minecraft Java on Android:

Minecraft Bedrock on Linux:

@marcoarment wait why do you want bedrock on macOS? It’s so buggy the community calls it BugRock
@CleatusFetus It has different bugs than thr Java edition. A pick your poision type situation, and I personally strongly prefer Bedeock for a variety of reasons.
@marcoarment I have a bright orange Ritter Sport shirt from an exchange trip in high school that didn’t fit when I bought it, but would go good with an orange iPhone.
@marcoarment .. but Java edition is the proper version anyway🙂

@marcoarment Sad thing is that Minecraft Bedrock ran on Apple Silicon days after the first ones shipped.

Probably just needs a bit of UI work to make it more Mac-like from the iPad version. For the first few years, I was hopeful.
