The Enshittification Game is particularly hard on the elderly.
Can't even buy a snack without Surveillance Capitalism demanding a credit card.
Watching people trying to use a kiosk to order food. Cash not accepted anymore & the touch screen isn't working right. There's almost no staff.
Within 20 minutes, saw seniors, the wheelchair bound, ESL immigrants, people with low vision, just barred from buying food or giving up in frustration & walking away.
@Npars01 @kirschner @pluralistic I'm 70 and I worry about getting two old to even kind of sort of keep up. My particular peeve is the appification of everything. I hate typing on my phone and would much rather use a keyboard.
I'm just loud and bitchy enough that I'll find someone to help me get the job done, technology or no.
