As an independent fiction author I use the Chicago Manual of Style for editing to determine what is correct versus not.

Word doesn’t flag “alright” as incorrect. So I have to remember to manually do a find & replace to make sure I didn’t accidentally learn the wrong form, because sometimes I still use it out of habit when I’m typing fast. I thought, There must be a way to fix this. I finally discovered how.
