Looking for moderators

Hi!

I’d like to kindly ask if anybody would like to help moderate this community.

I think there will be none to few posts here, and if any are posted, that they are entirely unproblematic.
But who knows what the stars may bring. Maybe there comes a sudden influx of users to lemmy & piefed, etc.
I also have next to zero modding experience.
So, I’d rather not worry about it, and just ask for help now to be in a good spot asap.

Thank you very much 🙏

I have a couple questions:

  • The sidebar basically says all OC is welcome, but the idea of the community seems to be explicitly about art which lacks technical proficiency. Do we leave all submissions without scrutiny, leading to any popularity of the community ending up with technical proficiency posted anyway—defeating the entire purpose—or do we draw lines in the sand about stuff that’s “too good” to post here?
  • Is this community intended to be exclusively genuine, or is stuff intentionally lacking proficiency okay too? Think like quick doodles, shitposts, maybe drawing with your foot for fun.
  • Are you okay with someone taking some control over the presentation of the spirit of the community (e.g. sidebar, pinned rules post, graphics)? Obviously you and the community itself can still be directly involved in how things work, but as a baseline to get things off the ground.

At a glance, I could see this community being a great way to have zero stakes fun doodling and experimenting, along with genuinely inexperienced creatives who want to share themselves, without feeling like there’s a high technical bar to entry just from scrolling the feed. If that sounds like what you envisioned, let me know, and I can help out if you’d like. If it doesn’t, tell me what is the vision, and maybe I can still help out after some communication with you.

Absolutely the second. I was having it in mind as more of a playground, where nobody should have to worry about whether whatever they did fits this place, as long as the submission abides by the rules.

Absolutely! I just want this community to exist. :)

I want to be as hands-off as possible. So, I think, right now there is no ‘too good’ either. If it takes over and gives visitors the impression that this community has a quality standard, I’d say thinking about the right kind of action to take would be reasonable to keep a right kinda spirit in the place.

I feel like you get and agree with what I had in mind for this place, so I’m gonna make you mod, and if possible, give you the same powers as I have here. Feel free to change things as you see fit. Should I, or other folx have an issue with anything we can always contact you. :)

Alright, fantastic! I’ll run with that totally hands off approach for now, though I’ll try to make it very apparent what the spirit of the community is about with any material I add or refine.
