@petersuber What happened to tenure? I mean, what's the point of having tenure if you can just be fired anyway? Normally you have to rape a few students to lose tenure! And not those charity students, either: real, white, wealthy students. Future alumni.

The school is described as a "historically Black land grant university" and was developed in 1882 for the purpose of being a university for Black students. My guess is this will turn out to have been something the feds did because of that.

@blogdiva @petersuber the fired faculty surnames mentioned in the article seem to me to be typically East African (?). I could be wrong, but in light of what's happened in Minneapolis recently it seems suspicious
