Honestly, Gavin Newsom is the dems planning to lose. They've had a year and a half to digest Harris' loss, their own studies told them running right was a mistake and yet here we are. They aren't running to win.

@HakeemG @TheGreatLlama @Quasit @artemis unfortunately that’s not how she positioned herself in her campaign. “I’ll be tougher on immigrants and less tough on Israel than the guy who won in a landslide last time” lost her a lot of enthusiasm from her base, and the Dems ignored (or scolded) EVERYONE who pointed out that very, very obvious outcome

Trans rights are a hard line for me. I will not cross it for anyone. I compromised about Israel and now 27 members of my family are dead. I have a transkid. They will have to go through me to get to her, and I’m a tough old bird.

Compromise in the 21st century is collaboration with fascists. There can be no compromise on human rights, whatever pronoun they use.

Gavin Newsom has done everything he can to oppose progressive values in any way possible. He started up concentration camps for the homeless in the desert, for God's sake! He shipped the homeless out in order to make the city look cleaner for the visiting President Xi.
