We went to Netherlands with the family (Amsterdam then Utrecht).

There we ate a delicious Appeltaart (at de Dakduif
52.356382, 4.897321 – https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/2817555388 ) which I’m currently trying to reproduce at home.

Getting recipe(s) was not that easy: « Appeltaart » is not the « Dutch pie » or « Dutch apple pie » recipes you commonly find online.

Once I stabilize a working recipe, I may publish my own version.

It’s still hot, we’ll have to wait…
The perfume is 🤤(apple, cinnamon, cardamom).

The dough looks like less « cake » than the one we ate (I suspect a "not enough eggs" case).

Almost 2h of baking at 160c ! (the cake tin is pretty big, and I had more than 1kg of apples).

I suppose the varieties of apples used have a big impact on the cooking time (here, it was a mix, with pretty firm ones).

Ok. For now, I’m pretty proud ! 🎉

Not totally the same we ate, but quite close.

Very happy with the apple: cooked but bigger chunks are still firm.

As guessed: slightly not enough egg. And I’ll lessen a bit the sugar in the dough next time.
