We have so many technological advancements, but most of the newer ones I don’t want or need.

What I do want is a way to see my package as a real-time dot on a map. Give me *that* technology.

In fact it’s not new. We have the technology already, the carriers just need to implement it.

Let me watch my package travel across the city in real time.

The first carrier that invents this will be the one I pick when I checkout moving forward.
@jsatk Ummm - UPS does this already, and has for years, but only on the “out for delivery" day. If you sign up for UPS My Choice, you can track your packages when they're out for delivery. I can watch the truck move around a map of my neighborhood.
@joelhousman I have the My Choice thing… Let me go double check and see if I have this magic.

@jsatk I noticed it doesn't work for all packages.

The key is:
1. It has to be out for delivery.
2. Log into My Choice
3. Pull up the tracking page of the package out for delivery.

You should see a map.

@jsatk Also: Availability: Primarily for Express and Air packages, sometimes available for Ground.

So its not available for all packages.

Usually on iPhone delivery day it works for those shipments.

@joelhousman that link says “My Delivery live map is no longer available”. Hm.

I just had the damndest time signing in. I haven’t signed in in years. Of course I haven’t changed my password. It’s in my password manager. UPS claims that’s the wrong password. I reset it. But on the screen to enter the one-time code texted to me it keeps going back to the login screen. I finally figured it out after the fourth try. When I tapped the code in Safari (I’m on iPad) and it auto filled it “submitted” the wrong button. There are two buttons, one goes to the password reset screen and one goes back to log in. Amazing.

Anyways, I totally HAD signed up for UPS My Choice but it was for my apartment two apartments ago. So updated all that. Still don’t see a live watch option. But hey you got me closer.

I’m anxiously awaiting a new NAS today (UGreen) after getting fed up with my underpowered Synology DS220+.

@jsatk Yeah. If it was overnighted or air, you may be able to track. If it was shipped ground, then maybe not. Seems its not available for all package types.
