🚨 We have a new episode out today 🚨

What if our societies supported us to rest, to look after our families, and to enjoy ourselves and our communities as much as we’re encouraged to generate capital?

In this week’s episode, we’re joined by writer and activist Emma Holten to explore feminist economics: a radical rethinking of how we measure value.

How feminist economics could change Europe — The Europeans

Imagine what would happen if our political, cultural, and economic leaders began to reconsider what it means to create “value” in Europe. The Europeans
@europeanspodcast Excellent podcast. Thank you.

@europeanspodcast this was a really thought provoking episode it highlights do many disconnects and contradictions around in how we view work and value.

For example, in my job I can't generate money, it's a "supporting role" a cost to the company but we measure the value of this work and our contributions in other ways, so it is seen and accepted but clearly not at the right level (in the view of today's economists).

Then there was the recognition that Mandami has brought together both sides of the political spectrum. Yes I think you are right, voters for both ends, particularly those who are more just disaffected and want to see change than necessarily being hardcore proponents of one ideology or the other, needs that voice that addresses this issue of value and stops reducing all societies activities to a € value.

Lastly the comment "I don't know when economists are more angry at women, when they are working or when they are not" really really just sums up the whole ridiculousness of how we approach value measurement in our modern society in one I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry sentence.

Thank you for doing this and bringing these topics to the fore!
