Well @cliffle , I finally figured out why my truck's ABS triggers at low speeds: previous owner put a stack of metal shims under the driver's front wheel speed sensor. They moved the sensor just far enough from the gear teeth to be unreliable at low speeds.
@mxshift well that's a new one to me! I'm having a hard time guessing their motivation.
@cliffle @mxshift have you ever had a stack of washers, and asked yourself "what is the barmiest thing that I could do with this stack of washers"?

@rotopenguin @cliffle except this was a stack of metal shims cut for this exact sensor. Maybe they came with a replacement sensor and they just stuck them all on?
