I responded to @1password's email asking about opting out of AI and such, and they sent an automated response. I responded again saying it didn't answer my questions, which I reiterated… and they sent that automated email again.

I am reminded of @jimniels's recent post about care (https://blog.jim-nielsen.com/2026/observations-on-care/). It checks out!

A Few Rambling Observations on Care

Writing about the big beautiful mess that is making things for the world wide web.

@chriskirknielsen Hey Chris! When we send large email updates, we get a flood of replies, including out-of-office auto-responses. The first automated message just confirms we received yours and helps us manage that spike. It’s not meant to be the final answer.

With the current volume, replies are taking a bit longer than usual, but the team is working through everything and will get back to you.

@blake Hey Blake, I appreciate the reply! I can understand the process, and thanks for clarifying.

I don't mind a couple bucks increase, and I think a lot of people could understand maybe a 5–10% increase. But 33%, with "AI" (which I never asked for) in the mix?

You're not the CEO, so it's not on you to respond here and try to justify that. I'll wait for the email, but I am genuinely concerned about where 1Password is headed.
