@arrjay A couple years back a colleague of mine had done some protocol mojibake workarounds for stuff that’d do SMS/HTTP/USSD, and one of the partner interfaces (for a specific GSM provider) apparently had a bug where it’d *sometimes* go (undeclared) UTF-7

So I most strongly concur with this true toot
