That #HamRadio QSO was hard won. My callsign suffix is hard to grok over SSB unless conditions are PERFECT.

AM or FM, with good conditions, much easier. But SSB is difficult. They seem to get L right away, then Q after 2 more tries, then M takes another 3-4 overs.

1st call, november zero mike quebec lima

When they miss part of the suffix, I’ll give full call, repeat suffix. Let’s say they got N0__L.

2nd call november zero mike quebec lima, mary… queen… lima.

If they’d missed L, I’d repeat using London.

@kelvin0mql "Mary Queen of London" is actually a good mnemonic. People remember such things.

Beaming to South America you could also use Quadro or Queso, we actually used those when on the Canary Islands 😅️

Agreed, with Europe DX, I quickly switch to mary queen london, as those are more familiar to them.

Queso is a great tip for Latin America, though. I’ll have to remember that one!
