Actually not much different... It only takes 45 mins longer than Acela from NYC to Boston 😄 much better deal. But these trains desperately need some update it's ancient!
GERMI thought business class might be quieter! I definitely appreciate that Acela has a quiet car.
I was trying to get the Acela II from Boston to NYC but they cancelled that train and put me on an old Acela 😭
@germ and Acela isn't really that nice... Maybe it's nice for Amtrak or American standards but compared with China France and Spain or literally the rest of the world it's trash 😂
@corgidad man even the old ass regionals blow away anything we had in CO haha, it feels so luxurious. the amtrak system is what i love the most about the NE. i really wish we took rail systems as seriously as other countries do, but even with this system here it feels like everyone i talk to ignores it and drives through three states to NYC anyway!
@germ I drove to NYC once on a Friday afternoon and it took me 6+ hours. I was like no thank you.. never again 🙄
If Connecticut would do better with tracks and grade separation Acela would be much faster... But CT is gonna CT so 🙄

haha I was talking about the curves and the grade separation so the train has to slow down for safety reasons. Acela can tilt to be faster but there's no way to get around the safety rules to make the train slowing (and honking) at rail crossings with roads...
@corgidad oh hmm 🤔 maybe i was on an Acela recently lol. my last trip had me in business class on my connection and it was kinda annoying because the car was ALL THE WAY AT THE BACK and they only pulled up the front couple cars at the platform. i was hiking so long through that train i thought i'd get to my stop before i found my seat 😂 anyway yeah it had a fancy quiet car I had to plow through so maybe that was Acela after all.
