Darn, my memory loss (including being able to follow complex topics) struck again, resulting in something that would not have happened just a few years prior.
My city recently did a special election on a project continuing. But as it turns out, the measure was worded negatingly, so that a vote yes meant for the project to stop. I ended up voting in completely the opposite way than intended. I didn't even realize it until the voting result was announced, too late to change my vote.
I wonder how many people this may have affected? Hopefully not too many, but still, a cautionary tale for clear wording.
