Listening to the news yesterday, I heard three uses of the phrase "men and women" when "people" would have been more accurate, unless they really think non-binary or intersex people should be excluded.

Years ago—and still, in some circles—they would just have said "men", so we've made progress, but surely it's time to remove irrelevant gender references from our language?

Regular reminder to not use violent sexualized language to talk about toxic people.

Victims of sexualized violence, no matter their age, often blame themselves. That is a normal psychological reaction to traumatizing abuse. When you say "fuck nazis" you're basically telling women, men, non-binary grownups and children victimized:
"Yes its okay to use sexualized violence against bad people. They deserve it."
And that means:
"You must have deserved it too, which means you're as bad as a nazi."

Show empathy to the victims by not normalizing the acts and language of the perpetrators.
