I started this blog less that two weeks ago, with zero expectations and zero writing experience.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and pushing back.

The criticism made it better.
More coming this week

Stay tuned!

@thelocalstack Well done on visits, you must be "tracking" something to know that :)
But all good from my perspective.
I really enjoyed your "stack" piece, really insightful on how to self host, I have been looking for a way to get off Google Photos, 2nd recommendation for #immich now, so totally going to install that on my HA pi I think will handle it.
What is your Dynamic DNS handler? If you can recommend one that would be great.
@thelocalstack looking forward to your self hosting email post when it comes :)

@craiglambie42

Hey thanks for the kind comment, yes I’m “tracking” using goaccess, but everything is privacy friendly as the last octet in the IP is redacted. Yes immich is great but requires a bit of planning, I will do a post on it in the near future
On Dynamic DNS, I actually have a static IP from my ISP so I’ve never needed it. If you’re on a dynamic IP, DuckDNS is the most popular self-hosted friendly option and it’s free.

@thelocalstack Thanks for the tip.

I later read about your last octet of the IP strategy - which is a great way to get some knowledge, but keeping it anonymous. I am building something that needs that kind of info too :)

@craiglambie42 @thelocalstack fwiw, I can corroborate: Immich is definitely the way to go.
