@dizzywind_ Yeah I definitely think teachers can act as gatekeepers. In the reading, they gave the Saints a lot more grace, while the Roughnecks were already seen as “bad kids.” Those expectations clearly shaped how each group was treated, which just reinforces inequality. #so345

@dizzywind_ I think teachers can definitely be gatekeepers. They, like other keepers of the system, have great control over how one is treated within society. Students from upper classes are given more and allowed to getaway with more because of their upper classes. #so345
