Today I started framing in the loft beds for the kids. I'm using some simple lap joints instead of big steel or toe nailing. Always nice to practice my timber frame techniques and I'd love to do more of it.

And now the kids are "sleeping in it". They went to bed _an hour_ early to play in their new digs. Let me find some pictures without any faces....

The walls are temp'd in. We want to make structural climbing walls but the wishlist is getting long. I need to pare it down and make a plan for the next steps. It definitely needs lights at the lower level.

Added a set of stairs.
@issackelly stairs seem somewhat redundant with that climbing wall! 😅
@josh0 maybe for you! Mastodon says it’s been 19 days and I have carried a kid up that rickety step ladder at least a dozen times so far.
@issackelly idea: child catapult.
@josh0 maybe a block and tackle and a backboard like a helicopter airlift off a ski slope
@issackelly if you want bedtime to be boring…
