Firefox 148.0 arrives with AI controls

As Mozilla promised they would, Firefox version 148.0 has been released and with it you now get to control what generative AI features are enabled or disabled.

@gamingonlinux this is the way AI features for end-users should be, optional and on-device (or you specify the provider if not, for the chat panel).
@thomasjwebb @gamingonlinux
Optional should be add-on, not "but we gave you a slider".
@moldavia @gamingonlinux my main issue is that it's not off by default, but what difference would it make whether the functionality is in the binary and turned off or you have to click-install an extension? I'm troubled by Firefox's embrace of AI (because we all know that it's never just one thing, but a creeping process), but I think their design is more than just a slider.
