since i am bored and frenetically looking for a new job –
anyone want a talk about
- advanced typography, variable fonts, that reduce loadtime from 400 to 36
- generative colour and colour schemes in #OKLCH
i'm your woman!

Don't want to talk about either, adding custom local fonts to my website has taken all the fun out of it.
Do think i should use my local Borgfont instead of fontawesome icons. Every tech road taken seems to lead inevitably to *more isolation*.
Oh well. And i've got no idea what that acronym even means.
I do like you though.
@verymetalsite sorry you didn't want to talk about it 😆
i like you too
*reading up on the hashtag*
@verymetalsite ooh my. it is a perceptual colourspace buildt on its own complicated computations of human vision. then you can use css to do a lot of schmancy stuff
https://evilmartians.com/chronicles/exploring-the-oklch-ecosystem-and-its-tools
@verymetalsite took me a bit of time to get my head around it and understand how the relational computations work
LOL no ... i'm done customizing desktops, too happy with my current Fedora one. Looks like a useful tool.
If there's one thing i love about me penguin brethern is that they're so goddamned serious about *everything*.
They're so ... penguiny and rumor control has it that they've even stollen Greenland.
@sashin you use variable fonts. they are in essence one file for multiple fonts, reducing size considerably.
they have axies: enormous room for variants & animation. i made this https://codepen.io/benteh/full/NWQaroE
you can use variable fonts in css & keep your normal as a fallback – those will not load ff the browser utilises the variable file.
you can for ex play with Robotos ridiculous amonunt of axes here https://v-fonts.com/fonts/roboto-flex
takes a bit of time to actually get your head around it, but worth it
