This resonated with me. The way computers used to be hard is because their intended audience was more similar to the people who made them. The way they are hard now is because they are ubiquitous and vertically integrated, and (many) tech companies want to take advantage of that.

@nickheer on some level, they no longer need to care about usability and user experience - if you want to exist in society, you must to use the software/services made by one of three companies. If you’re going to buy it anyway, why should they spend time/money giving a shit and not just phone it in?
