As I head towards the final areas of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, I can't help but notice once again just how much fun the GameCube is.

I felt it with Metroid: Prime, I'm feeling it now. Granted, these are two of the best games the system had to offer, but there's a charm in them that I don't get with other retro or modern consoles.

I think the next game after TTYD is going to be yet another GC title,maybe Zelda Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, or even Resident Evil 4...

Honestly, I should play Eternal Darkness. I've had the game for more than 20 years in my backlog, and the emulation capabilities of the Steam Deck feel like the best fit for it.

@hk did you not own a GC at the time or are these games you never got round to?

Eternal Darkness has a cutscene in it that still haunts me today, even though I played it on release. I can still hear the music.

Avoid Mario Sunshine it sucks.

Wind Waker is the greatest Zelda game ever made.

FYI: these games are significantly better if you play them with the OG joystick. It’s also one of the greatest things ever made.

@Sobtanian I had the GC, yes, but not many games for it 😅 Here's my collection.

I wish I could play with the OG controller, I too think it is peak controller design!

@hk beautiful. Where is it? España?

I still have mine also, but purple.

Also have the gameboy player, I think they’re quite sought after now.

@Sobtanian In España indeed, next to my SNES.

Every year I tell myself I'll bring them here when I come back from our summer holidays, and every year our luggage is so full that there's no room left to bring any of the two consoles 😂😭

@hk shipping them too much?
