my poor sanyo 3do is having disc drive trouble... going to open it up and see what i can do with the replacement parts i ordered

these old front-loading optical drives have such issues so many decades later, doesn't even seem to matter what hardware we're talking about

it's a real toss-up for me in terms of which console i find prettier between panasonic's fz-1 and the sanyo try... both have such character!

i need to get a proper electronics toolkit, i'm tired of fishing through closets and checking all the bedrooms to see who last took what and didn't put it back

i do projects like this often enough where it'd make sense to get something from ifixit or something

@eri i've had an ifixit pro tech toolkit for about a decade and while i have added many other tools to my arsenal, it's usually the first thing i grab and can do most jobs well enough on its own. and the price isn't too bad at $75 (or $60 refurbished that still comes with the lifetime guarantee)
