@PIK_climate I am a bit puzzled, what exactly this "long term" is supposed to be. Are we betting on a technology, DAC, we don't even know whether it can be made for the price we now ask in the future? And the PIK as much as anybody else has emphasized that the overshoot must be kept as short and low as possible, due to tipping points that would be triggered in the meantime. This sounds very much like "pollute now, worry later" and it scares me.
