🚚 The `.io` domain names have become really expensive over the past couple of years, so I’ve decided to move the #PHP Valinor documentation from https://valinor.cuyz.io to https://valinor-php.dev
Redirecting

Thank you @mopolo for helping out!
@Romm I have considered this for some personal projects.
Are you keeping the old domain redirected to the new one for some time, or are you hard-replacing and hoping everyone will eventually discover the new domain?
@acelaya auto-renewal for the old domain was in November 2025, so the redirection will be there until Novembre 2026, which should be enough. 😊
@Romm yeah, that was also my thinking. Thanks!
@Romm ".io" domain funds colonization, ".dev" domain funds Google, I'm not sure 🤔

@pierstoval Feel free to financially sponsor my OSS work so I can choose a better domain name 🤗

Sarcasm aside, I knew that when I bought it — but that doesn’t mean I endorse everything Google does 🤷‍♂️. What would be some good, not-too-exotic alternatives?

@Romm I find the ".tech" domains to be a good compromise :)
@pierstoval `.tech` is sold the same price as `.io` domain names, which was the initial issue. Also, `.tech` is owned by an Indian billionaire so… 🤷‍♂️

@Romm Almost every TLD is owned by either big corporations, or some billionnaire somewhere.

The real solution would be to use domains owned by nonprofit orgs based in countries where their rights and data are safe, and so far there's no such thing.

ICANN controls pretty much everything that's not big corp, conjointedly with IANA for the DNS and GTLD parts, all these are US-based, so... yeah, Radix is based in India, but I don't know any bad thing about them (so far, no idea about the future)
