During a big storm NYC is represented by two separate but equally important groups. The city officials who try to calm everyone down, and the media who freak everyone out.

These are their stories.

We're fine as long as Jim Cantore doesn't show up like he did last month.

@blogdiva

Stay warm OK?

Hope that steam heat is hissing by now.

oyvey, will do. just saw the forecast. no wonder everything hurt. my fibro is my weather vane.

@futurebird

@futurebird I feel for you all. It is also inhumanly cold here: it fell to 1Β°C overnight, briefly.

I'll see myself out.

@futurebird

In Chicago, the two groups are the tow truck drivers who will tow and impound your car if you're parked in a snow route and there's more than 2" of snow, and the snowplow drivers who will gladly scrape off your door handles and side mirrors if the tow guy hasn't got to your car yet.

Keep warm, check on your neighbors, and don't take anyone's dibs!

@futurebird Calming, and Freaking are perpendicular axis on the graph.
