(Not so) fun fact. If you cut and paste some files in Windows File Explorer, then hit undo without realizing it (files are now in "cut" limbo), then do a further action in Explorer (wiping out the redo path), those files are now gone.

Not in the original folder, not in the Recycle Bin...Completely fucking gone. Some quick searching online shows this has been a problem since at least 2015!

@probnot That doesn't happen to me! When I cut and paste a file, and then hit CTRL-Z, the file just re-appears in its original location.

@themaritimegirl Hmm, and now that I'm trying this again I can't recreate it. There must have been more to what I did, but the audio captures are definitely gone. I swear I'm not crazy! 😅

Here's one discussion I found. It mentions renaming of files or folders between the undo actions, which I've definitely done by accident in the past. But I didn't rename the files or the containing folders this time.
