realized i was spending too much time defending a stranger and not enough time trying to change things, so

fluxer's contributor guidelines currently endorse the use of LLMs in contributions. i created an issue where i walk through some arguments for why they shouldn't: https://github.com/fluxerapp/fluxer/issues/435

if we want things to change, we sometimes have to do the hard work of convincing the people running them that they should. fluxer isn't run by a faceless corporation, it's one person, and people can be swayed by reasonable discussion.

if you want to contribute any additional sources to the claims i made in the issue, or provide additional technical, philosophical, or social arguments as to why it's a bad idea to accept LLM contributions, i endorse your contributions to that issue.

but, i'd ask folks to please not reply on that issue with generalizing statements like "everyone who uses LLM tools are lazy and incompetent" even if thats something you privately think -- i'm trying to argue this point in good faith that they are a reasonable person who can listen to evidence and consider the viewpoint.

i added a section to https://github.com/fluxerapp/fluxer/issues/435 on precedent for llm policy in other open source projects. if you know of any others feel free to suggest, it helps to have a long list

as far as i know the fluxer author has not responded to the issue yet, but please do not harass them about it. they have been really busy keeping the app alive as a huge influx of new users has come in and i dont think they've looked at the project issues at all yet (and i wouldn't expect them to!)

@chr Already seeing the fascist boot marching into this issue:

https://github.com/fluxerapp/fluxer/issues/435#issuecomment-3938280015

This is such a common pattern, I feel no qualms calling it fascist behavior. New account pops up to more or less love bomb the current developer's behavior and stirs them down darker waters.
