We have prepared a short yearly update of the ongoing repression against anarchists in Belarus. See more on our website https://abc-belarus.org/en/2026/02/16/chronicle-of-repression-against-anarchists-and-antifascists-in-2025/

Four anarchists released and pardoned.
Three were immediately expelled from Belarus.

• Andrei Chapiuk
• Akikhira Hajeuski-Khanada
• Mikalai Dziadok
• Mariia Misiuk

Term extensions

Nine anarchists had their prison terms extended — from 6 months to 2 years.

The official reason: “persistent disobedience to prison administration.”

In reality, this tactic is widely used to punish political prisoners who refuse to admit guilt — and to keep them from returning to activism.

New harsh sentences

In October, five young members of the Black Nightingales group were sentenced to 10–13 years in prison.

They were accused of plotting anti-war sabotage.

Mariia Misiuk, a Ukrainian citizen, was later exchanged in a Russia–Ukraine prisoner swap in November 2025.
