@jecko Hi Jecko! Nice to meet you.

Consider writing an #introduction where you present yourself a little more than a Bio would normally do, so people can see who they’ll follow!

It’s also common for people on Mastodon to help boost introductions, so you get introduced to even more people!

Welcome to Mastodon and hope you’ll come to enjoy it.

@mosgaard I’ll add this for my collab prof @Jono_Podmore so he can add an intro post when he can, then we can boost that
@elifyalvac @mosgaard
Just done an #introduction but isn't the same as profile text?
@Jono_Podmore @mosgaard your profile bio can’t be reposted/boosted where as introduction can be. We boost so you can connect with others in our instance and followers. Don’t deprive fediverse of prof Jono Podmore please. Here is a helpful guide from @lislegaard https://www.kristofferlislegaard.com/blog/2025-01-25-how-to-get-started-on-mastodon-fediverse/

How to get started on Mastodon / The Fediverse - Kristoffer Lislegaard

@elifyalvac @Jono_Podmore @lislegaard I see the #introduction as a more casual standard post, using the hashtag #introduction.

I would write a more casual presentation of myself, where the bio is a static often more formel “facts about me” text.

When you make a traditional post and use the hashtag, the post both show up for those who are following the hashtag, and the rest of us can see the post since we follow you, and boost it (share it) to our followers, to help more people connect.
