@ente @sohm wow! Let's wait for @fdroidorg to approve it!

Will there be a way of accessing documents via web (i.e. no app)?

@ente Is it a Cloud Drive? Document size limits? Folders?

@ente Congrats! Happy to see more people worrying about this issue. We have very similar functionality in HelpYouFind.Me.

Curious, how do you handle access? For instance how do you determine an "emergency" and grant access? I couldn't find how that works on the website.

@ente Say bye to proprietary platforms first
@ente so cool! For people that are self hosting Ente service, do they need to upgrade th server?
@ricardopereira Already bundled in the latest Docker image.
@ente Great, but please also keep an eye on Ente Auth because people have taken the trouble to report issues and there has been no follow up...

@ente hello
is locker included in the self hosting solution?

@ente This is really cool! I've literally been thinking about the need of an E2EE document storage system in the last weeks. Maybe one could extend Locker to be even something of a Document Management Solution, ala paperless-ngx? Of course, the OCR etc. would have to be client-side, but I think modern clients are beefy enough – and ente is already doing ML on photos as well?

Even better, if there'd be an API to "submit" documents (including their OCR + metadata) through external services (e.g., invoices from mail), similar to paperless-ngx. Again, the OCR'ing would have to happen on the submitting (receiving mail server side) before sending it over to Locker, but that'd really fill a gap IMHO.

@ente
Interesting.

Not sure about global login, though - ideally collections can here separate passwords?
