Yay! I may have spent so long basically recreating the original image I couldn't be bothered to do much with it, but the Tooter Moves. At least it worked, & it's another tooter in the animation library

#sillyScribbles #tootingTooters

Damn and blast. I didn't do my usual pause between save & post (which leads to tweaks about 50% of the time!) & have made a couple of tweaks to this which make it better. They are small, but make me feel better about it.

What's the acceptable thing to do here?

Option number 4 was going to be "Stop being so precious about a wee gif you muppet" but decided not to risk it πŸ˜†
@eclectech
Lol! Either way, we love ya, ya silly Muppet.

It strikes me that I could have just made a quick edit and left people wondering what had changed. But no. Let's discuss ones overthinking about trivial matters at some length to draw attention to it πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Anyway, I'm going for majority vote because that feels easiest.

Please don't tell me if you prefer the original πŸ˜†

Notification incoming in 3... 2... 1...

@eclectech It seems I missed the original, so I am just going to pretend the updated version is the only one πŸ˜„
@sindarina Excellent. This is a good result.
@eclectech
The mastodon post of Theseus.
@eclectech I would say it's up to you. Do you want this piece to be found/seen on the interwerbs in the future?
@jill I think I consider the Tooters very much a work in progress, so that doesn't bother me too much. In the past I have replaced images because it was something that was "oh no how could I have missed that?" - a definite mistake - whereas as this is less a correction and more an improvement (and I always feel a bit sheepish if I edit and everyone gets a notification 😁)
@eclectech I love notifications! 😁

And the setting possibilities for such on Mastodon. πŸ˜‡
@jill Oh yes, I love the ability to correct errors sooooo much!

@eclectech If I may add. We get to enjoy your fun and beautiful art here nearly every day and for free. This alone should give you all the entitlement to do whatever the toot you want and us admirers nothing but to appreciate it. imho

(Still get the thought of hesitation though and find it very insightful to read that others feel similar. Thank you for that!)

@eclectech All are fine, it is up to you. If the difference is really small, just replace (just as I would simple edit a typing error) . But if you feel it makes a real difference a reply might be better.
@saarmuller Yeah, when it's a correction I automatically replace, I think this one is a bit more of a grey area thus triggering my tendency to overthink trivial things!
@eclectech Lovely!
Are you animating the letter with node manipulation, or Sub-path and masking?

@triffen Gah, I played around with them in so many different ways (including both of the above) I had to go back in to check!

In the end it was a scene with a single Z with a transform on the opacity, size and position of it, then stacking multiple instances of them in a second scene where they had stepped visibility range, then sticking that on the bee.

@eclectech Oh, that... doesn't sound easy. I use sub-path and masking, and then curve the mask movement, so if there is something that didn't work with this approach, I can help.

@triffen OMG I'm a fool. For some reason I read your post as a reply to the bees one, with the ZZZs, which I had faffed with multiple times doing different things (I think I'd just been talking to someone else about it and failed to click through). Sorry!

This one was a sub-path and masking.

That was extremely diplomatic wording for what must have sounded absolutely ridiculous - thank you

@eclectech Oh, I just thought because N is sideways Z, maybe you used that. It still made sense in my head ;)
Sub-path and masking is the best way I know indeed, pretty easy when you know the steps.
@triffen Hehe, still... very polite :) Yeah, it's a nifty little feature, although I have just tidied it up a bit from this one (still working my way around it all).
@eclectech I love your tooters. Their fun, funky shapes, the simple black silhouette against the colorful background. I just *love* the aesthetic! Takes me back to... some of my favorite clipart from Corel Draw 5.0 (how very specific lol)
@raiscagamor Thank you! And hah, I probably had that version of Corel Draw back in the day πŸ˜†
