When I get a new Follower, I read through their posts before following them back.

I looked at a new Follower — their language seemed stilted and the posts felt contrived. It just felt a little weird.

There was an option to Scan User and it came back as “A Cloud”. Not knowing what that meant, I looked at accounts I know to be actual humans and Scan User wasn’t an option. But it was for some accounts that I know to be bots (e.g. weather reports and a restaurant’s daily menu), those came back as “autumn leaf”, “mushroom” or “whale”.

I don’t entirely understand it, but I feel like I’ve made a cool discovery!

@ScruffyJunco interesting....
I have my account set to where I have to approve new followers. Which is probably not the best decision because I often forget to check "follow requests"
@ScruffyJunco Interesting. This must be a Toot! function; I don’t see anything like this in Mona.

@JamesK

Yes, I was using Toot on iPhone. Good point. I don't see this function on the desktop client.
