Article in the newspaper; an older person can't access her bank with her brand new phone.
It was a de-googled #Fairphone, because she knew google is bad so she wanted something else.

The paper asked the bank CEO. This was news to him and he said they would take this into consideration.

My takeaway: we need to tell our banks that we want support for de-googled phones, or nothing will improve.
Go tell a bank today!

#degoogle @Fairphone

Gunvor kommer inte åt sin mobilbank – för hon använder inte Google

Ika och Gunvor vill leva utan Google ▪ Men bankappen kräver det

@jnthnkl Aha, looks nice! But if it’s that simple, why doesn’t Fairphone include it by default?
@remaster Well, Fairphone also sells devices with Google Android, but they let users choose which version to use. They can't go against Google, it's a strong partner for them.
In the end, it’s up to users to demand banking apps that respect their privacy. The more demand there is, the more third-party app developers will prioritize privacy.
@jnthnkl Alright, so do you mean that they choose not to preload the degoogled version with Sapio, because they don’t want to go against google?
@remaster I don’t think it would be fair for Fairphone to preinstall an app that encourages users to go against their partner.

@jnthnkl Alright, then I understand.

The problem is then to educate users of what they can do to go around this problem. And for the same reason as before, Fairphone can’t be the one educating their customers about this. 🤔
