Got a free old celestron and tried to take a pic of jupiter with my DSLR and an adapter but no dice =( Tough to aim, wobbly, can't see through the screen. I'm probably doing something wrong & it was cold. So I ended up taking a standard night sky with a 24mm. #nightsky #photography #astrophotography
here's an airplane passing by that I could not see with my eyes (unprocessed)
@robertcadena I have a 4" celestron with motor drive and so I bought an adapter/mount for a cell phone and it is a challenge to use and I have yet to get a nice stable image.
But one day! 😀
@robertcadena
Like you I gave up, mounted a dslr with a 10mm lens on a tripod, did a 55 second exposure and got more or less the same as you, but with a few more stars and a building because of the wider angle.
I love astrophotography!
@ThePiper I had too much light pollution that night so I had to keep the exposure time short. Good shot!
@robertcadena
Thanx
Light pollution is a pain.
I have a tiny spot in my garden where the street lights don't get to the camera, but it does help that I live in a small rural town far from any big city so big city lights are not really an issue
