A statistic that makes me cackle.

And the designer was exiled to the UK and designed the Cortina one of Ford's best selling cars.
@golfbravo I like the Cortina! We saw a mint-condition MkV in pale yellow this morning.
@witless I see one cyber truck around here on a regular basis. North Georgia USA. At least I’m assuming that it’s the same one I can’t imagine that many people in the area have the things. But yes, that factoid does make me cackle as well.
@witless That said, it was a far, far less competitive marketplace: fewer market segments, fewer manufacturers, essentially no imports.
@wollman True. I wonder (very, very idly) how those numbers compared with the larger population the US has now.
@wollman But how many multiple-car-families were there?
@witless Nazgul is probably trying to teach his humans to ski as fast as the Olympic competitors did.

@witless

I have only seen the Edsel from the outside, but surely, it's a fine looking car, yes? I never did understand why people hated it so much.

Of course, it may have had fatal flaws in operation, comfort or whatever, but design-wise I always enjoyed it.

#Ford #Edsel

I just typed “The ugliest car ever” into a search engine and the first thing the search engine showed me was a photo of the cybertruck.

I am sure a lot of people feel the same way about that, and that’s probably number one reason it wasn’t a hit.

@witless
Great example.

Many many moons ago when I was working on my MBA we studied a book that was called Marketing Mismatches, about some colossal marketing failures. The Edsel was one of them. I assume the Cyber Truck will be taught as a massive failure in new curricula.
