So the Supreme Court has ruled that Trump's tariffs are illegal, although they've left the option open for him to use other means to inflict tariffs.
Now what? He's collected over $200,000,000,000 (two hundred billion) dollars in tariffs from the American people - illegally. That's theft, although I don't expect he'll be prosecuted for it.
Will he pay it back?
Where IS that money? My guess is that most, if not all of it, has been squirreled away into his secret personal bank accounts and those of his family. It's "gone". It's HIS money now, and he won't be giving it back.
So who's going to pay it back, if it's going to be paid back at all? I think we all know who's going to be stuck with the bill: the American taxpayer. Doubly stuck, in fact: Trump will slash the social safety net by 200 billion (or more, because fuck those poor), and then he'll make us pay ANOTHER 200 billion to make up for the "loss". Which he'll probably embezzle as well.
Meanwhile he'll institute new tariffs using other means (which he's already done today), and the cycle will repeat all over again.
