A rant about Sirius Satellite Radio.
Signed up for a free plan. Put a reminder in my calendar to cancel before the trial ended if we didn’t want it.
Cancelled.
Oh, but no. Got billed. Talked in their chat to an agent, because you can’t just cancel it yourself. After telling them no, I don’t want a different plan, I just want to cancel multiple times, the chat disconnected.
I continued to get billed. Currently chatting again, specifically asked to cancel and got them not to try to sell me a different plan. So what do they do? Offer a different plan.
I just asked how many times do I have to say cancel!
Guess what… they OFFERED ME ANOTHER PLAN!
It gets better. I again tell them to just cancel. You guessed it, another plan offer.

Also refusing to refund even after she told me she saw in January where I contacted them and was offered a different plan.

Still in the chat… FFS

@annecavicchi I just thought of a thing... getting a visa gift card for 30 bucks.. and use it to register to free trials... or something like that...
@annecavicchi when I've run into situations like that in the past I just tell them I'm reporting them to the state Attorney General. Then I do.
@annecavicchi Stop payment, but continue to demand a refund.
@SueDiOh I did get a cancellation and refund for January and February.
That left December.
They said they can’t refund more.
I said it’s not that they can’t, but they choose not to.
It should never be so hard to cancel a service.
@annecavicchi I went through the exact same thing 15 years ago, interesting that they are still scaring away potential customers. If I could reliably subscribe for the summer months (when I drive in the mountains where there is no radio signal) I would, but instead because of this behaviour I avoid them like the plague. In fact, I wish a plague upon them.
@chetwisniewski
You should be able to log on to your account and start and stop service whenever.
It’s like they designed their business model just to tick people off.

@chetwisniewski @annecavicchi

Same here. Just posted about our experience below. They are hoping to keep subscribers by making it nearly impossible to cancel. This unscrupulous behavior isn’t new for them. I avoid them like the plague too. ❌

@annecavicchi

This is their business plan. We had a nearly identical experience (over multiple phone calls, instead of a chat)…more than a decade ago! We eventually insisted they confirm the cancellation in WRITING, because they continued to charge us, even after multiple phone calls. At one point, they sent us new equipment—and charged us for THAT — instead of canceling. We threatened to report them for fraud. Eventually, the nightmare was over, but they still send us “offers.” 🤨
