Refresh rate on the #Rodalies screens won't let me show you that it was 1400 on platform 4 but 1358 on the adjacent platform 2.
While we're waiting, here's one of the pair of dual-gague lines at Sant Vincenç de Calders. The standard gague is positioned away from the platform, no non-Iberian gague passenger service anticipated here it seems.
I'M ON ANOTHER TRANE. I think this is the 1315 from Estació de França. I'd considered this service yesterday but opted for the (cancelled) earlier departure to mitigate any potential disruption. 🤦🏻
Great day for an #Hife outage. (The bus company that operates the final leg of today's journey.)
Arrived in Tortosa 2h45m late (or 45m if you only count the train I ended up on rather than the cancelled one I intended to be on). Running the trains for free certainly avoids the admin overhead for all the refunds that must be very common right now.
Connected successfully with my onward bus with just a minute or two to spare. Might have missed it if I hadn't known where I was going, to sit at the front of the train, &c.
The Hife site is (still) down... for the drivers as well... passes are not working... bought a ticket... can reclaim next week... they say... a ver...
Jon Worth@jon I don't know if it's for freight, long distance or both. A new line was opened south of Tarragona and I think that is dual gague too, certainly dual-gague enabled if not. Roger Senserrich was my main source for information on what is going on with the so-called Mediterranean corridor but he's on substack these days. :-/
@tops might @trenvista know more? But honestly other than the cross border lines, Spain is not one of my stronger countries - I don't speak Spanish so do not follow it nationally very closely.
@jon I do know that the powers that be only started looking at repurposing the old line to run a tram service *after* it had closed. 🤦🏻 Work might finally start this year.

It's going to be funny for Iberian gauge freight trains.
Martin Hoffmann@tops Assuming both standard and broad gauge have the same loading gauge, wouldn’t a standard gauge carriage reach further out from the wheel and thus you need to position standard gauge away from the platform to not hit it?
